NPC-APAF Congress

October 30, 2019 - October 31, 2019

The National Pharmacy Council (NPC) hosted the International Pharmaceutical Congress, which run on October 30 and 31 2019. The congress co-organized by NPC and Association des Pharmaciens Africains de France-APAF attracted around 600 participants among them 84 internationals delegates from France, Benin, Congo and Cameroon.

The two-day summit gathered pharmacists, health professionals, academicians, researchers and policymakers under the themed ‘The African Pharmacist in Contemporary Practice’.

The congress aimed at empowering Rwandan pharmacists and other health professionals to make greater contributions to healthcare delivery in Rwanda. The gathering developed professional and individual courage to insist on their valuable role in primary healthcare and integrate themselves into all healthcare delivery systems.

The recommendations drawn from the congress will assist Rwanda in assessing its pharmacy workforce needs and priorities in the contemporary era; support them to develop needs-based workforce strategies and infrastructure; and provide co-created solutions, tools, mechanisms and resources for implementation

Different activities in regard to the preparation, execution and post conference tour have been organized. The pre-conference activities were organized meanly the visit to the Kigali Genocide memorial was organized for internationals delegates. The post-conference tour to Rubavu was organized for international delegates.
